Kenya: Lake Nakuru National Park (4th of 8 Posts)
Famed from the "Out of Africa" scenes and really worth being a global birding hotspot, there is no hype in praising Nakuru. We spent a seven hour birding trip starting late at about 10:30 (entering from Nderit Gate, not the main gate). So we saw only the southern part of the park.
My personal highlights:
-View from the south end of the lake - full of pelicans and waders and big game
-Makalia Falls
-Baboons
-Some rare birds (Secretary Bird, etc)
But we did not find the Ground Hornbills....
